The mathematics department and Mu Alpha Theta Honor Society of Orlando Science Schools invite students to compete at the Orange County Math Tournament (OCMT) to be held on Saturday, Febrary 13th. There will be three levels of competition: 4th, 5th, and 6th grade.
All schools are encouraged to participate, regardless of whether they currently have math teams or not. In Competition Math, any topics can arise. There are no guidelines or hints about how to solve the problems, so there is an opportunity to express and develop individual creativity and problem solving skills. In order to prepare, students may look at sample questions.
Registration must be completed online no later than Thursday, February 5th. The Registration fee is $10 for each student. Registration fees must be postmarked by February 5th.
Checks can be made payable to "Orlando Science Schools" and sent to: Attn: Abdulkerim Akyalcin, Orlando Science Schools, 2427 Lynx Lane Orlando, FL 32804. You may include a copy of the registration form with your check registration is online at orlandoscience.org/ocmt20142015. The competition is open to first 150 students who apply.
